Watch out, it’s spicy! (Hot ones)
Here is a game that pushes you to eat spicy food. A showdown against yourself or between 2 to 3 people. Will you be able to endure until the end? It’s going to sting, it’s going to burn, you’re going to cry… A game inspired by the show HOT ONES.

Game overview
In this description, we consider that 2 people are competing in this game. In reality, there is nothing preventing many more participants (in this case, it can be a team-building activity). Participants will taste tenders accompanied by spicy sauce. 7 to 10 levels of spicy sauces will be used. If one of the participants refuses to continue, their opponent wins.
For some spicy sauces, you will find their position on the Scoville scale. This scale is intended to measure the spiciness of a sauce or food. It allows for a comparison of the heat levels between two products. The scale ranges from 0 to 1,000,000. During the game, participants will taste tenders accompanied by increasingly spicy sauces.
Necessary accessories
- Chicken tenders (as many as there are sauces per participant)
- 7 to 10 hot sauces with varying levels of spiciness
- A relief kit for each participant to alleviate the effects of the spicy sauces
End of Hot Ones
As soon as one of the participants gives up or when all the hot sauces have been tasted.
HOT ONES game steps
- Align a series of 7 to 10 hot sauces in increasing order of spiciness in front of the participants.
- Participants start with the first sauce, which they put on their first tender.
- The players eat their tender at the same time.
- Allow the heat to build. Take your time and don’t rush, giving the spice time to take effect.
- An emcee can ask trivial or interesting questions to the two participants to allow time for the spice to kick in.
- Repeat this process until all the sauces have been used or until a participant gives up.
To calm the heat of the spices, participants can use soothing drinks/foods:
- Very cold water (ice cubes are great)
- Honey
- Whipped cream
- Milk mixed with lemon (the most effective)
And most importantly, avoid water (unless extremely cold) and soda during a HOT ONES!
WARNING:
- Never rub your eyes with your hands. If you have chili on them, it will hurt. Use a tissue if you need to rub or wipe your eyes.
- The day after the game, you might feel unwell and need to stay close to the bathroom. 🙂
